Music Ministry Leader
Our mission is “to lead in worship” as we publicly praise the Lord, proclaiming the Gospel and leading God’s people into a deeper knowledge and experience of Him through the ministry of music. We also want to stress worship as a life-style, not a separate activity to be engaged in only at specific times and places.
- To reach outside the walls of the church as well as ministering to the church family.
- To minister to the needs within the choir as a “church within a church” to promote unity, healing, and discipleship.
- To exhibit the character of Christ so our musical activities will have a greater meaning and impact.
- To provide special musical events that will uplift hearts, inspire commitment and draw people to the flame of the Gospel.
- To provide an outlet for people to utilize their diverse artistic God given talents within the spiritual and physical context of the church.
It is a great joy for me to greet you and share my appreciation for your interest/involvement in the Music Ministry at GMC Huruma Tent of Prayer. As you know, it requires many individuals, such as yourself, working together, praying and sacrificing together, to create music that exalts and glorifies God. We are so blessed to have so many musically gifted and anointed people by our side in this ministry. We are glad you are one of them.
Together, we are a team and are accountable to God and each other. Commit yourself to the Lord first, and then to this ministry and see what He will do through us as we make ourselves available to Him! Let us continue to move forward and “Raise the Standard” so that we may please
God with our efforts.

About Music Ministry
Music is something we both hear and sing when we worship. This is related to the fact that worship is both call and response. The call of God reaches the depths of our hearts with special power through music, and our singing expresses with special power the deepest response of our hearts to God
The purpose of the Music Ministry is to exhort, uplift, and encourage the body of Christ through song and worship.
The Music Ministry aims to create an atmosphere that glorifies God, edifies the body of Christ, unifies the community and encourages an authentic connection with God.
The Music Minister must strive to live according to God’s will and purpose and be on one accord in mind and heart according to the word of God.
The music ministry is a vibrant and passionate component of worship at GMC Huruma Tent of Prayer. Under the direction of worship leader Winny Akiny for the past 10 years; the purpose has remained the same… bring glory and honor to God while engaging the congregation in lively musical worship. The music is a balanced blend of songs that range from classic Christian standards to the most popular contemporary Christian music today, always delivered in a refreshing style.
The music ministry works diligently to bring excellence in worship to the church while continuing to grow and glorify the Lord. There are two teams that rotate on Sunday mornings. In addition, on the first Week of every month the music ministry organize for worship concert at 2:00 pm, appropriately named 1st Week Worship.
